Shannon Duffy LPCC

Welcome! This is my counseling practice—where judgment gets the boot, and curiosity is always welcome. I take a person-centered approach, which is just a fancy way of saying: you’re the star of the show (and I’m your thoughtful sidekick). The best part of my work? Getting to build real, human connections with amazing people like you. We’ll explore your thoughts and feelings like two detectives digging into the "why" behind your "what." I truly believe everyone has a story that makes sense. My job is to help you peel back the layers—like an emotional onion—to find insight, clarity, and maybe even a little laughter along the way. Let’s get curious together.

Experience:

Life throws curveballs—and I’m here for it. With lots of experience in healing modalities (and a deep love for helping people through messy transitions), I’m passionate about walking with folks through the big life shake-ups. Whether you’re grieving the end of a relationship, mourning a loss, switching careers, moving continents, or just thinking, “What is even happening right now?”—you’re not alone. These seasons of change can stir up a whole storm of feelings: anxiety, sadness, confusion, maybe even some PTSD-level overwhelm. Together, we’ll slow things down, get grounded, and gently unpack what’s coming up. We’ll work to help you find solid footing again—and maybe even reshape some old beliefs that no longer fit the new you that’s emerging. Because even in the chaos, there’s clarity waiting to be uncovered. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

 

My Story:

Like many good stories, mine includes a plot twist—or in my case, a solo move to South America. After going through some of life’s bigger challenges, I packed up, changed my scenery, and slowly started to heal. Turns out, a change of latitude, changed my attitude... and outlook.  That chapter taught me lessons I couldn’t have learned in any textbook—about resilience, rest, and the beautiful mess of personal growth. It’s what inspired the way I now show up as a therapist: with deep respect for every person’s unique path and pacing. Change can feel like a weird, uncomfortable in-between stage. But you don’t have to go through it alone. Together, we’ll create a space where you can be vulnerable, honest, confused, hopeful—whatever you need to be—as you explore what healing looks like for you. Growth isn’t always graceful, but it’s always worth it. I’m honored to walk beside my clients as they find their footing and move into new, meaningful chapters.


Education: I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor from Adams State University in Colorado with a Master’s in Exercise Science from Kean University in New Jersey.​

Pre-Counseling: After 20+ years as a Health & Physical Fitness Educator, I took my passion for helping others to a new level and became a counselor. Like many of us, my own journey took a turn during the wild ride that was Covid. It got me thinking (and feeling... a lot) about the deep, often messy connection between our minds and bodies, which are kind of a package deal.

 

I believe that building a better relationship with ourselves is the secret sauce to feeling grounded and connected—not just with others, but with life in general.

 

In our work together, we might use grounding techniques, breath work, or even sprinkle in a little joyful movement. My goal is to support you with heart, humor, and zero judgment as you peel back the layers, rediscover yourself, and start feeling more like you.

 

Let’s get into it—with curiosity, compassion, and maybe a few laughs along the way.

Whether you're riding high, feeling low, or somewhere in between with a snack in one hand and an existential question in the other, we’ll meet it all with compassion, curiosity, and a good sense of humor.

Life is twisty. Sometimes you’re grounded; sometimes you’re metaphorically (or literally) in a handstand wondering how you got there. Either way, we’ll find new ways to look at things, make room for change, and invite in more joy—with fewer regrets and maybe a few awkward giggles along the way.
